Hanging out with Dinee and Tay...

I love it when the NBA playoffs roll around if the Jazz are in them. Not because I am an avid basketball fan, or even a sports fan for that matter. But because it means Dinee and Tay and their girls will be over for dinner and to watch the games. We go from seeing them once a month if we are lucky, to several times a week! And we always have such fun hanging out with them. We are all loving that the kids are getting old enough that we can send them downstairs to play and we can watch the game with only Addie to keep an eye on...

And really, who could mind keeping an eye on all this cuteness?

The other girls have been having a lot of fun dressing up like princesses. Jake is so sweet to play with them and help them accessorize.

Although Brian was a little worried when Evie came up last night and said, "Me and Libby are the pretty princesses! And Jake is the queen!" We are mostly sure that she meant king...

Lila wanted a turn to be the queen too!

Looks like she still has a way to go to grow into that crown...

Last night we were watching a funny movie, and Jake was upstairs with the grown-ups, so it was only Evie and Libby downstairs playing. They are usually really good and play together really well. But all of the sudden I realize that I am hearing screaming that could be either hysterical merriment or someone crying in terror. We sent Jake to run down and check on the girls and he came running up less than a minute later to report that they had dumped the entire box of laundry detergent on the floor! Yeah. Dinee and I flew down the stairs to the laundry room and found this...

Both the girls had mysteriously disappeared by that point. (Kids aren't stupid.) But my first concern was just to make sure that neither of them had eaten any of it. They hadn't. Whew. Then I sent Jake upstairs for the broom and dustpan and my camera.

Clues about the identity of the culprits...

...as if there were any doubt.

You can also see where they were picking up handfuls to sprinkle on each other's hair.

"We were making it snow, Mom!"

I should have put something next to the pile to give it some perspective, but it was about two dustpan fulls when it was all swept up.

I'm thinking of investing in a lock for the laundry room door before the next Jazz game. Although on the positive side, I've been meaning to sweep my laundry room for more than a month now. So thanks Evie and Libby for helping me get around to that job!

Nothing like some good clean fun! (Sorry, I couldn't help myself, it was just too obvious.)

Libby looked at those pictures and told me she won't play in the laundry room anymore. We'll see how long that promise lasts. She also loves talking about the princess dresses. She had a lot of fun that night.
