Jake fell off the monkey bars today just as school got out. So we went straight to the InstaCare, and luckily our favorite MA was on duty. (Although it's not our preferred way to get to see Dinee, we were so happy she was there when we needed her!) One ice pack, one x-ray, and lots of tears and tissues later it was confirmed that he broke his arm. He has a buckle fracture of the radius. He is in a splint or soft cast for the next few days until the swelling goes down, and then he gets a hard, short arm cast on for about a month.
And of course it is his right arm. I have realized through a very long afternoon that I am in big trouble. What am I going to do when my right-hand man is quite literally with out the use of his right hand?!

Jake I'm so sorry to hear that you broke your arm :( Hugs and Kisses from Colorado!
Ugh, I'm sorry. I don't want to imagine life with out the help of my oldest!
I'm glad I was there. Don't take this the wrong way, but I was happy to see you. It made my day just that much better! It looks like Jake is resting comfortably. Gotta love those narcotics! Tay told Libby tonight about Jake getting hurt and she wants to come see him. I guess he tried to explain that she needs to listen to us better when we tell her not to jump off things or else this will happen. I don't think she quite understood.
We were at the park yesterday, watching Liv climb and then watching the big kids climb higher. I told my sister in-law that I think the monkey bars are dangerous and someone could break their arm. I am so sorry for Jake. OUCH!
Oh man! Here's hoping Jake feels better soon! And that you survive. :)
Ouch! On the other hand, I'll take a broken arm over a broken head any day.
Glad he's ok.
Maybe the roof is a safer place to jump from after all. Poor Jake! I guess at least it's the end of the school year and not the beginning, though I think it would take a lot more than a cast to make Jake fall behind.
