First off I'd like to thank my guest blogger for graciously stepping in and helping out during my horrible bout of blogger's block. Hopefully the old adage that a change is as a good as a rest will hold true. But if not it relieves my mind to know that I have a perfectly able partner who can step up and lend a helping hand on occasion. He's a peach.
Tonight I came out into the living room to find a card sitting on the computer. On the front it says, "to the greatest mom EVER!!!" and on the inside there is a pink heart glued to it and says " we (arrows pointing every direction to indicate the big heart) our mommy! -Dad, Jacob, Evie, and Lila!" Then Jacob was there showing me that he had set up a "Mommy relaxing station" on the couch. He had a pillow at one end for my head and then two couch pillows stacked up and cover with a towel at the other. There was, in his words, "an assortment of lotions" waiting on the TV tray. He had me lay down on the couch, turned on some soft rock music, and then he and the girls proceeded to give me a very nice foot and leg massage. The girls kept saying "Oh la la! It's like a beauty spa." Well, Evie said "Oh la la!" Lila kept saying "Ho-la Mama!" but I think that's what she meant...
I thanked Jacob for being so thoughtful and making me feel so special and he said, "Get used to it, because this whole week is going to be about you! Seven whole days of being extra nice to Mommy! And just you wait until Mother's Day actually gets here!" That kid is a peach too, takes after his father.
And just for the record, a girl really could get used to daily pampering and being treated to extra niceness. Days like this make being the mom all worth it.
