Celebrate the small victories...

Today I cleaned out my front closet.  I also cleaned  my microwave.  These two things don't really have anything to do with each other, except for the fact that they are both niggling little chores that seem to be put off for years at a time. (The closet, not the microwave... that would be too gross for words.)  But tonight I will sleep better knowing that just outside my bedroom door is the hallway, and immediately adjacent to that hallway is my living room, and tucked in the corner of my living room is my front closet, which is now cobweb free and neatly organized.  The fact that there are no clean towels in the house is a problem for another day...

It's a great feeling . . . releases mega amounts of endorphins! Almost makes me want to tackle my pantry . . . almost.Love, Sandra

I LOVE projects like that (when they are finished, of course)! But since I am home all day it seems like I am always noticing little things like that that need to be done. They were there before when I was working, but I just didn't notice them :)

Wow! First the silverware drawer and now the closet. You are a cleaning machine! I does feel good.

When I first entered Relief Society at 18, in my home ward, I remember a homemaking night on being organized, or cleaning schedules, or something in the general category.

The one thing I still remember to this day is the lady saying, "I always have at least ONE clean room in the house. That way when the rest of the mess gets overwhelming I can walk in that room, shut the door, and pretend the other parts of the house are just a clean."

So if your house throws up toys, as mine often does, and your children call to ask if I have seen you, I will tell them to look in the closet.
